From the boardroom to the campaign brief, female voices have long driven some of the most compelling, culturally resonant narratives in marketing and public relations, sometimes redefining what it even means to connect with an audience. This month, we asked our team to share the female storytellers who have inspired their work, challenged their thinking, and reminded them why PR matters.
Audree Hernandez, Senior Account Executive
Audrey Henson – Writer, analyst and creator of The Drey Dossier
I think she asks out-of-the-box questions and challenges the status quo. With everything going on in the world, with so much misinformation that could drive me to isolation/silence/overwhelment, she makes me curious to research.
Casey Burke, Content Writer
Taylor Lorenz – Tech journalist and content creator
Taylor is a journalist who focuses mainly on tech and Internet culture. But what really inspires me is her fearless and intelligent commitment to morality. Her writing and reporting do a great job of dissecting the thorny issues that come with modern technology without ever losing sight of compassion.
Gabriela Rudolph, Account Executive
Kara Swisher – Podcast host and writer
Kara Swisher inspires me with her fearless, no-nonsense approach to holding powerful figures accountable and her ability to cut through noise with sharp, insightful questions. Just as impactful is how she uses her platform to push for more diverse voices and encourages women to step into authority unapologetically.
John McCartney, APR, Agency Principal
Kristelle Siarza-Moon, MBA, APR – Storyteller and CEO of Siarza
I met Kristelle at the 2022 PRSA Counselors Academy conference, and we’ve been close friends ever since. As fellow Filipino Americans, we’ve built a strong bond based on mutual support, shared values, and a genuine desire to see each other succeed. She affectionately calls me “Kuya John,” but there’s real meaning behind that relationship.
Kristelle inspires me through her drive, sharp insights, and passion for life. She shows up intentionally in everything she does, whether it’s leading her agency, supporting peers in the industry, or bringing people together. As co-chair of this year’s Counselors Academy conference in Carlsbad, she continues to create space for connection and community, which is something our industry needs more of.
She’s not just a strong storyteller; she’s someone who empowers others to share their stories as well.
