Returning to CES in 2025 after an eight-year hiatus was both a nostalgic and transformative experience. The last time I attended, I did PR for VideoAmp, producing a video series with OnlineVideo.net. This time, attending CES as the founder of JMAC PR—a growth agency specializing in building credibility, awareness, and thought leadership for growth-stage technology companies—the journey felt full circle yet refreshingly new.
CES 2025 was a whirlwind of innovation and networking. This year’s theme, “Dive Into the Future,” couldn’t have been more fitting. AI and robotics dominated the landscape, signaling a future that feels as thrilling as it is transformative. Walking through the exhibitions, I couldn’t help but joke that the proliferation of advanced robots and AI felt like a page out of the Terminator franchise—albeit with the hope that our real-world advancements veer toward cooperation rather than dystopia.
Navigating CES: From AdTech to Startups
My journey through CES started at Aria, where I spent most of my time engaging with adtech professionals and diving deeper into the industry that’s at the core of my work. From there, I ventured to the Venetian to explore Eureka Park, where startups worldwide buzzed with fresh ideas. Finally, a Las Vegas Convention Center trip enriched my CES experience with larger-than-life exhibits and the latest breakthroughs.
AI: The Star of the Show
AI was undoubtedly the star of CES 2025, making its presence felt in every sector imaginable. AI’s seamless integration into our daily lives was on full display, from autonomous vehicles to healthcare devices, smart homes to wearables. Startups and tech giants showcased innovations that blur the line between convenience and necessity, leaving me inspired and a little in awe of what the future holds.
From Sci-Fi to Reality: The Rise of Practical Holographic Technology
Particularly impressive were the strides in holographic technology. Seeing holograms evolve from science fiction to practical applications—whether for entertainment, communication, or business—was a testament to how far we’ve come in just a few years.
AgeTech: A Surprising Connection
A personal highlight was seeing AARP’s presence at the conference, showcasing innovations in AgeTech. As an AARP member, I was heartened to witness technology aimed at improving the quality of life for older adults. This growing sector has immense potential, and it was inspiring to see it represented on such a global stage.
Connections and Productivity
As a PR entrepreneur, this CES marked a new chapter for me. I attended as a spectator and a business owner with a mission to forge connections and glean insights. From reconnecting with old friends to making valuable new contacts, the experience was fulfilling both professionally and personally. My meetings were productive, and the lessons I learned will undoubtedly shape how I approach the following year in business.
Looking back, CES 2025 was more than just an event; it was a reminder of the incredible pace of innovation and the endless possibilities. I’m already marking my calendar for CES 2026, eager to see how this year’s trends evolve and what surprises await.
