The holidays are a time to celebrate the people we love, successes and blessings from the year that’s passed. They’re also a time for thinking about commitments for the year ahead–especially to mental health, something that’s always top-of-mind at Jmac. This holiday season, in the spirit of celebration and reflection, we asked the Jmac team about their proudest achievements from 2022, and one mental health commitment they’re making for 2023. Here’s to a healthy and happy new year!
Audree Hernandez, Associate Account Executive
What’s one achievement you’d like to celebrate from this year?
I would like to celebrate the fact that I’m here. Mama, I made it to a big girl job. This is the beginning of my career and I’m excited to say that landing this job is my big achievement of the year. Which also highlights the biggest achievement of my life thus far, graduating college in 2020–which, due to the pandemic, is often something that I forget about.
What’s one commitment you’ll make to support your mental health in 2023?
My mental health feeds off of creative outlets like journaling, painting, and photography. I think the one thing that I want to start committing to is myself- documenting my highs and low on paper and through a lens. I often want to live in the moment and just leave technology out of the picture, but my memory is terrible so it wouldn’t be so bad to have a picture or two of my accomplishments in life and some self-portraits of my golden years.

What’s one achievement you’d like to celebrate from this year?
In a nutshell, I’m happy to have joined Jmac PR, and also to have finished Freesia’s fine work and launched the Employee Handbook. Working for someone who sees the value in doing things right and in writing is a nice change for me.
What’s one commitment you’ll make to support your mental health in 2023?
To support both my mental and physical health, I’m committed to walking at least ten minutes when I wake up and after I eat. My body and mind feel better when I move. Despite knowing this, I often let work or other obligations take precedent and that needs to stop.
