Women’s History Month is a time to celebrate the impact, leadership, and innovation of women across industries. To close out the month, we asked the men on our team to share their shoutouts to women in the field who have inspired them. From trailblazing journalists to industry leaders shaping the future of PR, these women have left a lasting impression. Here’s who they’re celebrating and why.
Casey Burke, Content Writer
Nominee: Jennifer Wang
I admire Jennifer’s adventurous spirit, her ability with the written word, and her willingness to dive into the hard work of building out new projects. She started out in journalism, and while working at the LA Register she even spearheaded an attempt to start a whole new branch of the paper. Eventually she transitioned from journalism to helping build her current company, 2X, from the ground up. Now, it’s a company of over 600 people that only continues to grow under her leadership as the VP of Marketing. To me, Jennifer embodies what it means to be a strong, impactful woman in both journalism and marketing.
Jackson Elrod, Associate Account Executive
Nominee: Jo Carr
I have been in PR for less than a year, and only full-time for 3 months. I have slowly been learning the history of it all and learning about Jo has been inspiring. Being the President of “Women In PR” is such a huge accomplishment. For me success isn’t about only being good at what you do. Jo has paved the way for others after her to be successful in the field as well, which is an admirable thing.
